Top Secrets by Astor

Top Secrets by Astor

The famous Astor (Victor Jamnitzky) collected top secret routines from his best friends. These original manuscripts were so far only available in german language. Enjoy the fantastic miracles of Jahn Gallo, Joro, Bob Driebeek, Axel Velden and Mr. Schnitter.

Top Secret 1, The dancing cork: This effect was used by the famous Fred Kaps, three time F.I.S.M. world champion. Learn about the history of the effect and all the little but important secrets. Let a cork from a wine bottle dance on your hand and float into the air!

Top Secret 2, Bill in the Safe: In the world of magic many things are possible, but sometimes there are things which make even experienced magicians shake their heads and say "That's impossible". This is one of those effects: an illusion which doesn't offer any possibility of an explanation.
The magician puts a wooden chest on the table, closed with a lock on the front. Someone loans him a banknote. This is marked by a person in the audience, and the serial number is taken down. Suddenly the banknote disappears! The magician shows that his hands are definitely empty, and they really are! Then the Performer opens the wooden chest and takes out a plastic tube that is sealed at both (!) ends. He opens one end and slides another locked tube into the waiting hands of a person from the audience. The person opens the tube and finds the bank note inside. This is a very mystery!

Top Secret 3, Telephone Shock: Hand out a phone number to a spectator. Then ask a member of the audience to point at something in the room. lt could be anything: an object, a piece of furniture, a picture on the wall, something written, a person; anything at all, without any restrictions or influence from you! The person then takes the telephone receiver (You no longer say a word, or even move!) and dials the number you gave him. Someone answers the phone, and before your guest has time to say a word, the person at the other end of the line speaks in a mysterious voice, describing exactly what it was that the person freely chose!

Top Secret 4, In a nutshell: A spectator freely chooses one of several walnuts, which is then impaled on a sharp sword. The spectator holds the sword it all the time till the end of the routine. A marked banknote is then burnt, the ash is pushed into a pistol and the pistol fired at the spectator holding the sword. The nut is now opened by the spectators and the marked bill is found inside!

Top Secret 5, Gallo's Wonder Necktie: Cut the spectator's tie in two pieces and magically restore it. No extra pieces used, the tie is actually cut! A very strong routine which is not suitable for every performer!

Top Secret 6, Ball Wonder: Bob Driebeek is worldwide known as the inventor of great routines, such as the Driebeek Die. The Ball Wonder is one of his most creative ideas.

The Top Secrets manuscript has 40 pages with many line drawings, explaining the different tricks in every detail.

FROM THE FOREWORD OF THE TOP SECRETS:

Foreword
A while ago, due to pressure from my friends, I published a very small edition of some of my original tricks and routines for a select group of serious magicians. It was exactly ten manuscripts, which appeared under the title "Sealed Miracles." It was an overwhelming success. Afterwards some of my friends, all of them serious experts in the magic guild, offered some of their original tricks to be included in the series. That didn't really work because the tricks in the series only fit with my own routine. I published the tricks which were offered to me under the general term "Top Secrets". And they really are "Top Secrets", meaning very valuable, professional routines.
These original manuscripts were only available in Europe and are now sold out, but since many magic-lovers are still interested in them they have been published again in a new collection. This collection has two special features which will make any magician's heart beat a bit faster. First, you get them substantially cheaper than you would if you bought them individually. And second, Top Secret Number 3 is included in this collection, which I had to take out of the original publication at the time, and therefore was absolutely not available. I'll explain later why I didn't sell that manuscript at the time, and how it was revised.

You now have valuable pearls of modern magic in your hands. Please keep the promise never to tell the tricks to anyone...
